You should be reading . . . The Immortal Iron Fist

Iron Fist has always been a C list character in the Marvel Universe. Tucked away on some team’s roster not doing a lot more then punching and kicking his way thought HYDRA or some other evil villains. But with Ed Brubaker and Matt Fraction penning this new series and David Aja providing lush art work, Iron Fist is getting some well earned time in the spotlight.

The Immortal Iron Fist launched way back in 2006 and has been going strong ever since. With the second major story arc wrapping up now is a great time to jump into this book.

The first story, “The Last Iron Fist” (issues 1-6) will introduce you to some of the facets of Daniel Rand’s tasks in the mundane world. Protecting his billion dollar company, fighting hydra, and unraveling conspiracies. He will also uncovers something about his past that change what he thinks it means to carry the mantel of Iron Fist.

Your second tale, “The Seven Capital Cities of Heaven” goes in depth on how the world of Iron Fist works. This is also an action packed story centered around a once in a lifetime tournament between gifted martial artists. But behind the scenes a plot is lurking that could destroy the cities of the mystical plane.

This book are really great, they showcase what is capable when a book gets a good creative team together. Iron Fist has stepped out of the darkness and become easily one of Marvel’s best books. It continues to be fresh and innovative. Even in my thick stack of weekly buys Iron Fist usually the book I reach for first.
