Good day, and welcome to the latest show! In this one, we talk about some of the new demos up on Live this week, a good number of games that are coming down the pipe at various times in the future, and get into some discussions about the latest sales numbers for the video game industry. GTA IV works its way into several discussions, and Ben suggests an interesting alternative for those who want the Tony Stark Experience without buying the Iron Man video game.
What we’re playing:
- Ikariam - Like Civ, like crack. Ben enjoys.
- Universe at War demo - Disappointing.
- Iron Man demo - Also disappointing. Needs work. Apparently you cannot die.
- Frontlines: Fuel of War - Lots and lots of problems, but drones are cool.

- Cites XL - Looks awesome.
- Xbox 360 SRPGS - Operation Darkness and Spectral Force 3. Ben is super-excited for SRPGS for the 360.
News:
- Mortal Kombat vs. DC - WTF? Will it suck?
- Unreal Tournament III - For the 360. Mods? We hope.
- This is Vegas - Shown at Midway event as well. Apparently lots of mini-games. Will there be gameplay?
- TNA Impact - It was there, but we don’t care. Hooray for competition in the wrestling industry!
- Nartuo Ultimate Ninja Storm - Looks seriously incredible. Don’t believe me? Check the screenshots and gameplay video.
- Soul Calibur - Old DC version coming to XBLA! Ben loved this game to death. No online multi-player, though.
- GTA IV - DLC = whole new cities? We can only hope.
- March ‘08 NPD numbers - Nintendo doing well, but Sony moving in with PSP. We also discuss changes in the nature of the PS3 vs. 360 combat. Smash Bros. Brawl: did incredibly well, no one surprised. Call of Duty 4: just sold 9 million units, 1 million downloads of map pack on release day.

- Rock Band DLC - Judas Preist Screams for Vengeance! Whole album downloads coming. Also, Motley Crue debuts new song on Rock Band. Does it mean anything for the music industry?
- Xbox Originals - Metal Arms and Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory. Meh.
- The World Ends with You - Are you diggin’ it? Fight frogs with lighting!
- NBA Ballers: Chosen One - Takes place in the Matrix.
- Pokemon Mystery Dungeon(s) - I AM MUDKIP.
- Persona 3 Re-release - Kids shoot selves in head.
- Target Terror - Awesome lightgun game! Look forward to it!
- Battle of the Bands (Wii) - Play songs like…different songs.
- The Red Star - Was a PS2 game, wasn’t good.
- GTA IV - About to come out! Don’t pre-order at Game Stop. Will this break the holiday release cycle? Can video game releases threaten movie releases? GTA IV and Mario Kart Wii don’t compete; they are for different audiences, says Ben.
- Don’t need Iron Man game, just need some Jack Daniels.
